God reminded me recently of a time when I saw five deer cross the road. It was a residential street, so there were driveways and sidewalks around, too. I stopped and intently watched to see where the deer were going.
At one point, as the deer were walking across the grass, they approached a paved walkway, about the width of a sidewalk. Interestingly, instead of merely walking across the walkway, they all LEAPED over it. And I’m not talking about a gentle little leap—I mean they HURDLED over it with almost 4 feet of air between their feet and the ground. It made me laugh out loud. I wondered, “Did they jump over it like that because they thought the walkway was dangerous or were they just having fun? Maybe a little bit of both?”
It made me think about how small our battles really are. From an earthly perspective, we look at them and think they are these huge obstacles. We don’t see any way around them. They stop us dead in our tracks.
From God’s perspective, however, they are small. When you’re the Almighty, nothing is bigger than you. Not one…single…battle.
Not only is God able to give you the power to overcome your battles—He can give you enough power to LEAP over them with room to spare. And surprisingly, you may actually have a little fun overcoming that battle with Jesus. 🙂
