I want you to picture something for me. Picture a battle during the Civil War. The North vs. the South. They’re fighting with their muskets (and whatever other weapons they had back in those days). They’re tired. They’re weary. They’re in pain. Many have fallen. Until, ultimately, one side wins—the North.
Now, I want you to picture those same soldiers from the North, after the victory, running around, stabbing and shooting all the fallen soldiers. They don’t stop fighting! They just keep running, growing more weary. As they’re running, they trip over the fallen soldiers and endure more injuries, more pain.
Isn’t this absurd? Why are they still fighting? They’re already won the battle!
Now, I’m going to ask you a question: Who won the “ultimate” battle? The battle against Satan, sin, death? Jesus did! So why are we running around, growing weary, fighting all these battles, when really—the battle was already won!
What’s your battle right now? Anxiety? Fear? Lack of self-esteem? Whatever it is, DECLARE Jesus’ victory over it.
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
